Well, Hello!

I’m so glad you’re here! I truly believe the relationship between therapist and client is everything. You deserve to feel comfortable, supported, and connected. To help with that, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation before starting therapy (you can look at my calendar and schedule that here). This page should give you a good sense of who I am and if you have any additional questions for me—please don’t hesitate to reach out and ask!

Meet Emily

Hi! I’m Emily. And something you should probably know about me is I genuinely LOVE being a therapist—but long before I ever became one, I was a client myself. I went to therapy for the first time as a teenager and quickly learned how powerful a safe, caring therapeutic relationship can be. Honestly? I absolutely adored my therapist and looked forward to our time together—so much so that it made me realize that was exactly what I wanted to be professionally.

As an adult, that therapist—along with others who have supported me through different seasons of life—has continued to offer what matters most: a safe, nonjudgmental, and deeply connecting space. Those relationships have changed and continue to change my life.

I became a therapist because I want others to experience that same sense of safety, understanding, and empowerment. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can show up as you are and begin to heal at your own pace. And even though I now sit in the therapist chair, I know from years on the couch that life is hard—that therapy isn’t always easy or comfortable, and it can  still be deeply meaningful and transformative.

I am passionate about creating a warm, welcoming, and supportive space where you can feel safe to show up exactly as you are. I have over nine years of experience providing compassionate counseling in the Fort Worth, Texas community and recently relocated to Frederick, Maryland, now offering exclusively virtual therapy for clients in both states.

In sessions, I work with you to gently explore current thought patterns, identify new coping strategies, and cultivate healthier, more empowered ways of thinking and living. From your very first session, we’ll begin developing practical tools you can use immediately to manage stress, regulate emotions, and navigate daily challenges with confidence.

A Collaborative Approach to Growth and Change

My therapy style focuses on helping you:

  • Make space for your emotions without judgment

  • Strengthen communication skills in personal and professional relationships

  • Create meaningful behavioral shifts that enhance your day-to-day life

I understand that change can feel challenging, and I firmly believe that with compassionate support, practical guidance, and a collaborative partnership, meaningful growth is always within reach.

Expertise and Professional Training

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Family Studies from Howard Payne University and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University. I am a Certified Autism Spectrum Clinical Disorder Specialist (ASCDS), trained in advanced grief counseling, and have specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

With years of experience working with individuals of all ages and stages of life, I support both males and females through a wide range of mental health concerns. My approach blends clinical expertise with warmth and empathy, providing a space where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered to grow.
