How can I help you?

Virtual Telehealth Sessions Conveniently Available for Both Maryland and Texas Residents

Children (10 & up) and Adolescents

Growing up isn’t easy. Each stage of childhood brings its own challenges, from intense emotions to new developmental pressures. Relationships—with friends, at school, and within the family—can either offer support or add to the stress.

For both children and parents, it’s often hard to know how to respond to everything that’s happening. Kids and teens need help learning how to stay balanced and meet life’s challenges with confidence.

Counseling can be a valuable resource for both your child or teen and you the parent. It offers a safe, supportive space to explore emotions, learn to interact with them, build healthy boundaries, and develop tools for navigating uncertainty and growth effectively.

Adults

In counseling, Emily strives to create a safe environment where you can learn from current thinking patterns, explore new coping skills, and grow in more effective behaviors and/or thought processes. Together, we will strive for effectiveness in areas you most desire growth.

Emily seeks to help you learn ways to make space for and gain influence over your emotions, communicate effectively in you relationships, and create behavior adjustments that impact your life in meaningful ways. Cultivating change can be hard AND it is a worthwhile venture. Where would you like to begin?

Autism

Do you have a Level 1 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis and want to process further?

Life on the spectrum comes with incredible strengths: deep focus, unique perspectives, rich inner worlds. And it can also bring challenges that feel exhausting to navigate. If you're feeling overwhelmed by social dynamics, daily routines, anxiety, or simply trying to “fit in,” you're not broken—and you’re not alone.

Together, we’ll build practical tools for emotional regulation, communication, and self-understanding—while honoring the way your brain works best. Counseling with Emily is built on respect, curiosity, and collaboration. There is no agenda to ‘fix’ — simply a safe environment to increase understanding.

 FAQs

  • My rate is $150 for a 45-50 minute session.

  • I have dual licensure in Texas and Maryland!

I offer virtual only appointments to individuals in both states ages 10 & up.

  • Taking the first step to start the counseling process can be overwhelming and intimidating. You may feel nervous and that’s okay! My hope is to spend time getting to know you, exploring your goals, and finding a pace and rhythm that works for you as we process together.

  • I’m an out-of-network provider which means you can pay with a card and I can provide receipts (Superbills) of services to file with your insurer directly. I have found there are many benefits to private pay (even if you do have an insurance provider) in the counseling process such as:

    • Having more freedom in choosing a counselor that is a good fit for you (not just one that fits the "in-network" bill).

    • Receiving counseling services for needs that aren't necessarily considered "billable" to insurance (I.e. relationship struggles, work stressors, life transitions, child behavioral challenges, etc).

    • As your counselor, I will not be required to assign a mental health diagnosis for our time together which could then become a part of your medical record.

    • Our total number of sessions and session frequency will not be controlled by your insurance company but rather through our collaboration and reassessment as we work towards your goals.

  • You can access my calendar and availability conveniently in my client portal at any time. You can also reach out to me via email or text (682-334-3796).

  • You can cancel or reschedule a counseling appointment through my client portal as long as you provide 24 business hours notice. If an appointment is cancelled with less then 24 business hours notice or you fail to show up, it will be charged the full session fee.

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

    • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

    • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

    • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

    • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
